Information

The Original Prusa MK4 3D printer, better known as the Prusa MK4 or simply Prusa Printers, are a collection of 9 fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printers that act as the standard 3D printer at the AMS. These printers serve the majority of visitors at the AMS through our Regular 3D Print Queue and are highly versatile for all sorts of projects from fun decorative items to strong engineering parts.

Prusa printers can print a variety of different materials, but the AMS exclusively uses PETG on the Mk4s. The printers are outfitted with large 0.6mm nozzles, so prints are extra-strong, though make sure to design for manufacturing and reduce the amount of support.

For any prints going on the Prusas, a mentor will slice an STL file for you through a program called PrusaSlicer.
