Specific safety and usage rules

In addition to the Shared Space User Agreement rules, located here, the Low Turbulence Wind Tunnel has some specific rules as follows:

• A minimum of 2 people are required to be present during operation of the tunnel

• Become familiar with the checklist before operating the tunnel for the first time

• While the fan is running:

  • No one shall go beyond the master breaker

  • Safety glasses shall be worn when outside of the control room

  • No one shall go in the test section

  • No one shall stand at the outlet

  • The test section side panel shall not be opened

• Only the wind tunnel and FlowKinetics flow meter may be used

  • Any other equipment such as the sting balance, model positioning system, and anything on the mobile rack must not be touched unless specific permission has been granted by Lee Whitcher

• Do not interfere with the motor drive controller next to the master breaker switch

• Only use the wheeled step ladder with the safety chains hooked up
