## Wind speed

The maximum observed wind speed is on the order of 17 m/s (38mph).

The fan control panel's speed control dial maps to wind speed roughly as follows:

Note from the above data that the speed control dial is highly non-linear and has significant dead-band. It is also an "open loop" system in that no feedback is employed by the motor drive controller, so the exact setting should be dialed in on each run.
